Overview

Overview

ClearFlask is a feedback management tool that lets product teams collect ideas, let users vote, and prioritize road‑maps. It provides a web UI powered by NodeJS for server‑side rendering and a Tomcat API backend, giving a full‑stack experience without relying on third‑party SaaS services.

Flexible Deployment

You can launch a development instance in minutes with a single Docker Compose command that also spins up optional dependencies. For production, ClearFlask works with AWS services such as DynamoDB, S3, Elasticsearch, and SES, automatically picking up IAM credentials, or you can self‑host any compatible back‑ends like MySQL, MinIO, or OpenSearch. Email delivery is configurable via SMTP or SES, and SSL certificates are managed through Let’s Encrypt.

Managed Hosting Option

If you prefer not to maintain the infrastructure, ClearFlask offers a managed cloud hosting tier with scalable pricing, allowing you to focus on gathering feedback while the platform handles uptime and scaling.

Highlights

One‑click Docker Compose launch with all dependencies.
Pluggable back‑ends: DynamoDB, MySQL, Elasticsearch, S3/MinIO.
Built‑in email delivery via SMTP or AWS SES, with Let’s Encrypt SSL.
Optional managed hosting with scalable pricing.

Pros

  • Fully open source, no vendor lock‑in.
  • Flexible deployment on Docker, AWS, or on‑prem.
  • Supports multiple storage and email providers.
  • Simple quick‑start for development and testing.

Considerations

  • Requires managing several external services for production.
  • UI lacks some polish of commercial SaaS alternatives.
  • Scaling and high‑availability need manual configuration.
  • Documentation may be limited for advanced customizations.
